This is a video I took for Sony Asia Pacific support, case #892969. Please make sure you are watching the Hi Def version as it’s the clearest and has the least unintentional artefacts. The test images used were:

The basic issue is that when light text on a dark background is moved around, the display in the immediate area corrupts with small pixels and boxes (usually blue, but sometimes sparkly and white). This happens on both a Mac and PC over HDMI in 1080p with different cables and inputs and all scene modes with all the HDTV image processing turned off, and was confirmed in a Sony Centre store to happen to every TV of this exact model, but NOT the bigger sizes and on other models.
There are also some unexplained moire issues. Currently Harvey Norman refuses to refund this 4 day old TV, even against Australian consumer law that demands it.
